Doula Training

Tiny Love Doula Certification was founded and created by:
Kristen Downer CPM, LDM, TLCD & Jessica Atkins CPM, TLCD

Creating Tiny Love was a true labor of love for us, we poured our blood, sweat, and tears into making a certification program that was evidenced based, easy to follow, affordable, and accessible to anyone that truly wants to become a doula and start not only changing other people’s lives, but even more importantly, changing her own life. One Birth or One Family at a time.

We have attended over 1700 births, combined.

We are Doulas, Doula Trainers, Mentors, Childbirth Educators, and Midwives, as well as moms who utilized doulas for our own births.

We have a combined 50+ years experience as childbirth professionals.

Kristen is a DONA trained doula, she founded Womb Service Doula Services, she has lead countless advanced doula training courses, everything from Childbirth Education to Doula Business Fundamentals. All the while serving women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, both in their homes, birth centers, and in the hospital settings. Womb Service Postpartum emerged in 2009 providing breastfeeding and postpartum support to Central Texas families. Kristen was an active volunteer for GALS, Giving Austin Labor Support and a founding member of the Central Texas Doula Association. She is a Certified Preceptor for Birthingway College of Midwifery, the Utah School of Midwifery, the North American Registry of Midwives, and the National College of Midwifery. Kristen currently resides in Portland, Oregon where she continues to serve families with her doula and midwifery services.

Jessica was a DONA International Doula Trainer for over 14 years, certifying well over 2000 doulas, a Certified Childbirth Educator (ICEA), one of the founding members of Giving Austin Labor Support (GALS), a Lactation Educator and WIC Peer-Counselor, she has won several awards for creating doula programs that make a difference in communities where maternal and fetal outcomes are less than ideal. She was also a Business Development Consultant, helping organizations around the world to grow and implement effective programs. She became a midwife and continued to serve mother’s and babies in her community.

♥Sadly, Jessica passed away far too young and far too soon in the Spring of 2017. Tiny Love will continue to honor her life’s passions in bringing support and care to women during their childbearing year, all the while fighting for women’s rights in childbirth. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think about Jessica and her impact on the birth community, her family life,  and in our personal lives. We miss her every day.♥
